THOMAS DOBLER Studied classical percussion, the vibes and marimba at the conservatories of Zurich, Strasbourg and Paris. 1996-2007 he was working with various Swiss symphony orchestras and played many concerts with international chamber music ensembles. He participated at famous festivals such as the BBC-Proms London, Menuhin Festival Gstaad, Lucerne Festival. During this period he was also a member of various Jazzbands and wrote the music for radio-thrillers for the Swiss radio station DRS. As a soloist with chamber orchestras he played in several projects with the New Yorker composer Daniel Schnyder. In 1998 he won the international CHAIN-Competition for interpretation of contemporary music. Since 2008 he plays many concerts all around Europe as a bandleader and soloist with musicians such as Kenny Drew Jr. (p), Reggie Johnson (b), Sangoma Everett (d), „Ayekoos Drummers of Ghana“, George Robert (sax), Françis Coletta (git), Georg Breinschmid (b), Daniel Schnyder (sax), Daniel Pezzotti (vc), Dave Taylor (tb), Andy Scherrer (sax), La Velle (voc), Arkadij Shilkoper (fh) and others. In 2009 he won the "Swiss Jazz Award" and in 2011 he was elected among the "top vibist" Jazz Station Poll USA. Thomas Dobler is a professor at the Haute Ecole de Musique in Lausanne and at the Musikhochschule Luzern.
